2015 | New Year, New You Programme

Calling all Full Circle Wellness clients – let’s make 2015 our best year ever with my New Year, New You Programme – and it starts NOW!!!

I know for most of you, today is your first day back at work! You might be feeling like this…

And before you know it, your New Resolutions to eat a proper breakfast, exercise every day and love your colleagues, has probably, already gone out the window… but have no fear – Full Circle Wellness is here to make sure you boot campers have the BEST YEAR EVER! Starting right now!! I’ve put together a New Year, New You Programme for all the boot campers, that we are going to follow for January 2015 – and set ourselves up for the best year ever!
So, go make a cup of (herbal) tea, make 10mins to read this post and let’s make 2015 your best ever!

Fitness Assessments – These will take place on the last Wednesday and Thursday and of each month. These assessments will test your cardio and strength improvement. Make sure you don’t miss them during the end of the month, and keep track of your progress each month of the year! Let’s set some foundations for all of us to work towards!

Dream Sheet – please see the attached Dream Sheet here –  it’s so hard for each of us (myself included) to keep to our resolutions, especially when it comes to our health. I want each and every one of you to print out and fill the attached Dream Sheet for 2015 – I will collect these for you this week and will upload them on the website – and throughout the year, I will send you reminders to go and check out your resolutions and you can asses on how you are doing! You also are making a pledge to all of us, as a community of boot campers, to take better care of our health this year! Sound like a good way to stay motivated and inspired? YES! Let’s do it!! Boys too!!  I have done mine to show you a sample here – you can do them digitally or print – I don’t mind! Go wild!!!

100 Day Challenge – yes, it’s back!! But this time, I have added some bicycle crunches to it as well – so we are working our abs, bums and arms!!!! For those of you have not done this before, it’s quite simple – you pledge to do 100 squats, 100 push ups and 100 bicycle crunches (50 each side) for 100 days! Use the attached template to keep track of your progress – pick any date to start and once 100 days is up, you will know! Just tick where you have done the crunches, push ups and squats to keep a record of it! I will also be incorporating the full set of three in most of our boot camp classes, but you MUST make the commitment to do it on your own. If you skip a day/forget/get sick – no matter, just pick up right where you left off – try to make it too 100 consecutive days as much as possible! I too, will be doing with you girls for moral support (and because I need too after this knee injury!) Last year, some girls brought their sign-in sheets to class and had another boot camper sign it for them – great way to stay motivated!

Additional note to the 100 Day Challenge – In addition to the 100 Day Challenge, I challenge each and every one of you to give up something that you love, but you know is bad for you for 100 Days. I call this Your Refrain. I am giving up added sugar for 100 days (no Mars Bars for 100 days!!) – but yours does not have to be so dramatic – it can be as simple as not allowing you to swop TV for a boot camp class, not drinking something specific (like wine), smoking – find something that you know will make you a better person if you Refrain from for 100 days – there is a column for it there on the template as well. I really urge you to join me in this, for yourselves!

Race Calendar 2015 – every year I put up a race calendar on my website that lists the most popular running, trail and cycling events in Cape Town – and aim to do most of them. I really want you guys to get involved this year – I have not had time today to update it with 2015’s dates, but the races usually take place the same time each year, so the dates on the website now less than a week off – usually a Sunday event. I will update this and let you guys know when the events are coming up, and how you can enter, but take some time before the year gets hectic to add these races to your calendar ahead of time and plan to run/walk some of them with us – check it out here.
