Full Circle Wellness, the holistic approach to Kinesiology, Nutrition & Fitness

Become a Morning Person (or setting good habits for a great day, which makes an awesome week, which turns into an amazing month, which becomes an incredible year that creates an amazing life!)

by Claire, 2 years ago

I know the title is long – but ultimately, it really is what happiness can boil down to – making and keeping good habits!

I recently flipped through a copy of the July 2018 edition of Fair Lady magazine (not my usual reading but there was nothing else in the doctor’s lounge) – and there was a fantastic article on “CAN YOU TRAIN YOURSELF TO BE A MORNING PERSON” by Liesl Robertson.

The article shared a few quotes from Hal Elrod, author or the best-seller The Miracle Morning – in this article, the author quoted from the book some statements that really resonated with me, especially about skipping our work-outs (at any time of the day), making unhealthy food choices or even choosing negative thoughts!

I really found it quite inspiring and hope some of the quotes below have the same effect on you!

“One of the most prevalent, yet not-so-obvious causes of mediocrity is isolating incidents. We do this when we mistakenly assume that each choice we make, and each individual action we take, is only affecting that particular moment, or circumstance. For example, you may think it’s no big deal to miss a workout, procrastinate on a project, or eat fast food because you’ll get a “do-over” tomorrow. You make the mistake of thinking that skipping that workout only affects that incident, and you’ll make a better choice next time. Nothing could be farther from the truth.   We must realize that the real impact and consequence of each of our choices and actions—and even our thoughts—is monumental, because every single thought, choice, and action is determining who we are becoming, which will ultimately determine the quality of our lives.”

“Every time you choose to do the easy thing, instead of the right thing, you are shaping your identity, becoming the type of person who does what’s easy, rather than what’s right.”

“If you’re just snoozing every day until the last possible moment you have to head off to work, show up for school, or take care of your family, and then coming home and zoning out in front of the television until you go to bed (this used to be my daily routine), I’ve got to ask you:  When are you going to develop yourself into the person you need to be to create the levels of health, wealth, happiness, success, and freedom that you truly want and deserve? When are you going to actually live your life instead of numbly going through the motions looking for every possible distraction to escape reality? What if your reality—your life—could finally be something that you can’t wait to be conscious for?”

I really took a lot from this article and will look out for The Miracle Morning on Kindle – as they say, habits maketh the man! Here’s to making (and keeping) good habits!
