Most of my clients know one sure fast way to get my blood pressure up! It’s when they tell me they are on the “Dukan / Atkins / No Carbs / High Protein Diet. YOH YOH YOH – does this make my blood boil!
Guys, don’t ever think cutting out a food group is a healthy and sustainable diet, it’s not. VERY few people are actually insulin resistant (we can thank Prof Tim Noakes for all this mass hysteria). Eating 5 kgs of ham instead of a sandwich will not make you thin. But it WILL increase your cholesterol and chances of heart disease. Exercise and a balanced diet will make you strong, healthy and above all, it will be sustainable (and you won’t gain weight when you eat one tiny donut at someone’s kitchen tea).
